it is certainly not an existing standard but is a goofy, illogical, and nonsensical one.
If you are taking too much damage then it is your job to know when to fold em.
It worked out for the people and decedents of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan otherwise the hammer must be kept down until the capacity for further agression is taken out.
If this cannot be grasped then check your own "silo", I guess.
