(3,889 posts)The slaughter and shocking, inhumane immiseration affecting a million kids and a million adults goes on today like it has for 8 months. It's cruel, relentless, unbearable to watch daily let alone experience. It is happening right now, not in the past.
Yet we are asked to continue centering our outrage on Oct 7th as if by doing so somehow the killings and war crimes of the IDF going on for 8 months and RIGHT NOW could be justified. Or as if nothing could ever be worse than Oct 7. It's sad and scary because we've long surpassed the retribution of an eye for an eye and yet there isn't much recognition beyond lip service of the human catastrophe and suffering in Gaza. It's still only about October 7 for many, whereas it should be about ending terrible human suffering, wherever it occurs, period. No exceptions, nor impunity.
