Much, much too soon for Laura to go. Condolences to her family and all who loved her.
This one has stuck with me… what fun, what sass.
That Earl guy didn’t work out, though, and I still love the song. I remember once talking to some guy took the song personally (really, pal?) — but in fact I once had a roommate who showed me a nice photo of her ex and told me that if he ever showed up on the front porch I was to call the cops asap. Then she told me the brief but ugly and eventful story of her marriage to him, starting with the honeymoon where he yanked her by her hair and told her she was now his slave, and culminating with the time he put her in Intensive Care for two weeks.
