(14,542 posts)besides plain numbers, I 'm not sure if there is much of either strategic or legal value in copycat indictments. And too - both clear cut as well as prospective and theoretical downside that should be part of calculations. But every state that had any whisper of a 'false elector' scheme going on - should have investigation(s) going on high heat. The integrity of the voting process is among the bedrock of democratic values - and every state has a vested interest.
I would also not be real opposed to seeing any state that refused to take measures and 'protect the process' feel some concerted 'pressure' on that issue from the federal government. It is after all a civil rights issue. (As well as a national one. Let the red state legislatures defend a clear cut case of 'vote stealing' and political corruption if they choose to .. )
