conservatives will not give up, concede defeat or stop trying to impose their will on everyone else. Any lose is seen as a temporary set-back to be overcome. My M-I-L is one of those 'fiscal conservative/social liberals' who refused to see that Republicans would overturn Roe, something she staunchly supported as a nurse. She laments the lose but still supports Republicans because she cannot admit that she's been wrong all these years. They will not concede an inch, but will demand we give them the mile.
PS a 'fiscal conservative/social liberal' is bullsh!t and cynical. It is saying 'the social safety net is appropriate, but, I'm not pay for it.'
