3. Logically one might think the numbers would work out to them being a little looser with credit

when interest rates are higher, as a given default would affect profits less as a percentage.

Then again, higher interest rates themselves may well raise the rate of default simply because total payments are higher.

So it might be a notable development, but I'm not in the business.
