6. Threads

Threads had/has the ability to bury Twitter/X, but they've slow rolled the rollout. Maybe they're getting infrastructure up, but Threads right now has not replaced Twitter because of one main thing. Threads is being marketed like a site you visit to check stories, Twitter is not like that, Twitter is a place you visit after following a link that you see somewhere else. Tweets are embedded in stories, posted on message boards, or copied into other social media. Rarely does anyone open their browser and go to Twitter. Threads doesn't have that right now, it's hard to paste into message board posts. It isn't being embedded in stories right now. Until Threads has that functionality, it will not replace Twitter.
