1. Senator Tim Kaine was very angry, yet eloquent on this & I share his anger at the precedence set

that this one $$$ company can bypass nearly all the regulations and requirements--when they hit a few snags-- by paying off Congress to pass something like this. Kaine's concern over those who would lose their property to eminent domain would now have no recourse. Of course, Manchin never cares about this, and many of the VA landowners, like those in WVA were generational owners of modest properties-- not wealthy people who could just go buy/build elsewhere. And now, they will likely have zero recourse.

While I have to agree that the bill HAD to be passed to avoid default and that there was no time for amendments, I am just sick over this and several other inclusions in the bill.

I guess there is little that can be done about the MVP unless Mother Nature or other issues result in a sufficient delay that a future Dem majority could override this with new legislation--or someone might successfully file a court challenge. But, it is sickening. I've never said much about Manchin, but he's got some Karma coming to him-- perfunctory Democrat that he is or no.
