Also when the richer people retire the higher earners should pay a higher deductible on Medicare. I get a whole 705 a month in SS after Medicare premium taken out. My husband gets a lot more, but he, like many his age started working when he was a teen (in the 1960’s). He retired at 65 and three months so he could help with my parents and me (I have medical issues) and my parents had dementia. I have been scared like the person who started this discussion.
