If you look at the video played on the news, the woman is aggressively invading the teen’s personal space. Standing right up on him, she repeatedly touches his arm. He keeps his hands on the handlebars. She then snatches his phone all the while screaming “help” and then mentions a fetus.

She is not surrounded. The other teens are sitting on either side on bikes at docking stations. Another stranger walks up, and she feigns tears. Receipts cannot account for the interruptive behavior. He could not re-rent the bike in time due to the assault.

Nobody with good intentions, or who is fearful for themselves or a fetus walks up to someone clearly already in possession of an item, invades their personal space, assaults THEM touching THEM and snatching their property.

I don’t care what kind of receipt she had. He was already on the bike in the process of renting the bike. He was interrupted and assaulted in the process.

In a world where police respond to and respect all, she should’ve been arrested.
