2. here's what i think is different- the disguise has gotten thin. too thin.

and they know it. that’s why they are getting so loud. they’d all love to go back to the good ole days of dog whistles and winks and nods.
in a digital world, they found those that did scream got the clicks, and those that tip toed got left behind. so now it’s a war of clicks for who can be the most offensive.
they’ve shown themselves for EXACTLY who they are. bigotry is polite no more.

these kids see them for what they are. and they see each other for who they are.
all this boils down to 1 thing. othering. and the lies required for that exercise.
the kids arent buying it. they wont be othered, and they wont let anyone else be othered.
and that, my friend, is the foundation of a better world.
