Every home in North Korea must have portraits of the Kims in it. Every adult must wear lapel pins with an image of the Kims on them. It is forbidden to turn your back on statues of the Kims. The current year on the North Korean calendar is 111, because Kim Il Sung was born in 1912, which has since become "year one" North Korea.

There is a good reason that no US leader (until Trump) ever dared to interact with North Korean leadership. NK isn't a normally functioning country - it's a cult which controls territory. When Trump met with Kim he legitimized the cult. And then there was that salute....
