Bush who used a rented hotel suite in Dallas to avoid taxes and bragged about it. It's hard to say when being dishonest became cool. I had friends that bragged about not paying taxes in the 70's and thought that was pretty disgusting. Probably been there since "the Gilded Age" and the Roaring '20s.
I'm sure there were lots of others, but those are the ones that hit my radar. (full disclosure I loved the Simpsons). The others not so much... I guess it just wasn't advertised or made to be a cool thing until around then. Of course, Drumpf learned it, lived it, and perfected it. Now millions live by it.
And millions of us don't, because we're not dishonest.
