3. If there are indictments next week it will still be a *very* long time

before we are talking about jail time. An indictment is just a probable cause finding. There will be many proceedings, motions, negotiations, possible appeals of preliminary procedures, a trial (maybe) which is likely to take weeks - the jury selection alone will be a very long process. If there is a conviction there are certain to be post-trial motions and appeals. Nobody will be talking about jail time, if at all, for many months.
