18. Here's my hot take: Florida can still be a swing state...

if the party is willing to invest.

There are so many gettable voters but they just don't show up to vote. The 2022 election had about a 53% overall turnout. Out of 14 million registered voters, about 7.7 million showed up and voted.

Miami-Dade county went red in 2022, but a clear majority, 53-54%, of the county didn't even bother showing up to vote.

After 2018, the party seemed to have made the calculation that they will not invest so much in Florida. I get it. It's expensive to campaign in Florida.

Republicans invested in Florida over a number of years and election cycles, and it's clearly paying off. Lat the last few years, Democrats have been nowhere to be found in Florida. Democrats have not been there to counter the Republican presence. If you ever expect to win a state, you have to show up.

I think the same goes for Texas. Investing in Texas is worth it in the long run because it's trending in our direction. Even though it seems useless now, our foot has to stay on the pedal.

This isn't about just the Presidential elections but Senate and House elections as well. If we don't invest to expand our footprint, we'll thin majorities of 1 or 2 seats will be our future.
