7. Typically, doesn't the minority party stay out of the vote?

If that's not the case, maybe the Dems vote with 5 more centric Republicans to vote one of them in as speaker.

My guess is that at some point today, Kevin sells his soul to be speaker. He'll be speaker-lite at best. It'll be a shit show. Probably not even all that fun to watch.
