Americans fall under the protection of our laws and constitution. It took the loss of over 100 thousand Americans, years of rationing and struggle, and finally an atom bomb to defeat the Japanese.
The insurrection is not comparable to the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The destruction was much less, and many of the insurrection ground troops are under indictment or convicted. The Japanese ground troops were never punished after the war.
None of the insurrection leaders have yet been indicted, but only the worst ring leaders of the Japanese were tried for war crimes years after Pearl Harbor.
