They are facing the same issues with the homeless population in Austin. They have tried designated campsites, which neighborhoods complained about. The city council purchased hotels which will be converted to house homeless persons, and everyone next to the purchased hotels is suing and picketing and throwing a fit.

The idea of campsites and hotels and getting them off the streets is good in theory. No one likes the homeless in tents on the sidewalk. It's ruining downtown Austin. They just also don't want them in a hotel next to their neighborhood or close to their kid's school, which they are anyway when they're in tents on the sidewalk.
