1. I feel like there are two different issues at hand here

1) The Covid vaccine. I know there is talk about having it added to the childhood schedule, and I'm okay with that. Go for it. The more people who are vaccinated the better, and with a proven track record that it is safe, hopefully stubborn minds will change about it all.

Having said that, it's not mandatory, and I don't know one business in NYC that requires any other vaccine to partake. We've had almost two years to take the vaccine. I have five shots in me. I'm not worried about my health. I am mildly more worried about my aging parents and in-laws health, and will do what I can to protect them.

But I no longer think it's fair to make businesses enforce vaccine rules. It's cumbersome, makes underpaid people enforce vaccines and puts those very same underpaid people into the line of attack if someone feel aggrieved. That's not fair to them at all. Store clerks, restaurant hosts and ticket checkers aren't paid nearly enough to do this kind of work.

2) Vaccine schedules: Universities and schools should maintain the same rules they've always had, and for the safety of their population, uphold vaccine requirements (or written doctors' notes for excuses) in order to register students for classes. If they are changing their protocols bc it's beneficial to them monetarily, then society has a bigger problem. Anti-vaccine nonsense has a huge foothold, and the medical community needs to find a way to push back.
