About the racists and their "We want our country back" shit

Their country? The country in which white "Christians," from the moment they set foot on this continent, slaughtered every indigenous human being they could find? The country to which black people were kidnapped and brought to as slaves? The country in which the racists and haters have made hatred and racism acceptable to far too many? The country in which the future of our freedoms and our democracy might be gone in an instant?

"We want our country back," is the crazed meme/scream/cry of insanity, that they are throwing in our faces. We, the sane majority. We, the ones who want to live in a peaceful, just world. We The People.

Three weeks from today, we'll find out if they've managed to peddle their lies to enough people; if they've worked enough voters into a self-destructive frenzy; if they've drawn out the hatreds of far too many; if fascism can triumph in America.

Many pundits like to talk about a "slippery slope." Well, that "slippery slope" has turned into the edge of an eroding cliff. Perhaps we can vote ourselves off that edge. But if we can't, the fall into darkness will be the stuff of our worst nightmares. And we all know how that fall ends.

So what is this rant about? A warning of the veil of evil that is trying to descend upon us. Another setback to human sanity. The possible end of our progress in becoming a more highly evolved species.
