(13,101 posts)Their free tax ride not only robs the rest of us of tax dollars for the common good, it also forces us to support these parasites when we do not support their beliefs or their politics.
It was the Southern Baptist Church that defended slavery, supported the KKK, and preached that black peoples were a substandard race that God deemed should be subjected to the will of white people. While their rhetoric has been toned down today, their beliefs about white supremacy are essentially the same as in the 1800s.
History is rife with political actions and wars of the Catholic Church. Their pushing of religious views is simply a means of controlling their parishioners, from whom largesse flows to support the political desires of the leaders. Nothing has truly changed in thousands of years.
And not to let other religions off the hook, Islam is just as political as Western religions, keeping tyrants in power at the expense of the peoplesame as Christians do. In 1948, jews argued that God gave them the land of Palestine to form a political state, which they proceeded to do. Politics and religion are inseparable, no matter which religion it is.
