What happens when salt water floods land/fresh water sources, wells, etc. [View all]

Are plants killed? Fish in creeks/rivers killed? Wells contaminated?

I understand home insurance prices are beyond reasonable in Florida. What about vehicle, boat, golf carts, etc. Is a hurricane considered God's or Mother Nature's phenomena or whatever insurance companies call what they don't want to cover. I can't imagine any insurance company can remain in business after storms like these that are happening much too often.
