Judge Mehta Sentences Former Police Officer To 10 YEARS In Prison For Capitol Riot [View all]

That's the longest Capitol riot sentence so far.

Feds sought 17 years
Webster sought time served

TEN YEARS in prison for the former NYPD officer

Judge is leaning HARD into Webster.

Webster got on the stand at trial and gave testimony that runs counter to Webster's statements in seeking leniency. And judge is spotlighting that.

Judge: "I too wish you hadn't come to Washington DC. I too wish you had stayed at home in New York.. that you had not come out to the Capitol that day, because all of us would be far better off. Not just you... your family.. the country"

MEHTA says Webster's trial testimony was "utterly fanciful and incredible"

"The idea that you could sit on that witness stand ... under oath and tell those jurors that the way that you had your hands...was to show him that you're not going to hurt him is just not credible"

ALERT: Judge Amit Mehta sentences Thomas Webster to 120 months.

10 years

(Multiple *concurrent* sentences of 120 months)
