Republicans' next big play is to 'scare the hell out of Washington' by rewriting the Constitution. And they're willing to play the long game to win.

As former Republican senator Rick Santorum addressed Republican lawmakers gathered in San Diego at the American Legislative Exchange Council policy summit, he detailed a plan to fundamentally remake the United States.

It would become a conservative nation.

And the transformation, Santorum said, culminates with an unprecedented event: a first-of-its-kind convention to rewrite the Constitution.

Summary:

The conservative movement isn't done reshaping the Constitution from the ground up. Conservatives are now pushing an unprecedented convention to re-write the US bedrock text since 1788. So far, 19 GOP states have joined a rapidly-growing conservative movement to call a new convention.

..My Comment: The modern GQP and its enablers want to take us back to June 20, 1788, the day before New Hampshire became the ninth of the 13 states to ratify the Constitution. They want to throw out the whole document and write a new one, starting out with conservatives' bedrock principles: the United States is a Christian autocracy governed by one large corporation led by a white male who has virtually unlimited power and who serves for life or until the corporation is no longer profitable.

Article I Section 1: No law shall be made by any government entity which infringes on
an individual's right to own an unlimited number of weapons of any type.

Article II Section 1: Spending on the military shall proceed without limits.

Other provisions will address long held conservative beliefs: Christanity is the official religion;English is the official language; strict restrictions on becoming a citizen; no EPA, CDC, Education Department, or any other department or agency which will restrict in any way making profits. Essentially we would be a nation governed by the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition:
