7. I see secession thrown around more and more recently

I saw a poll that 40% of Democrats and 50% of republicans support the idea of breaking up the union.

I’ve got mixed feelings on it myself. I’m getting tired of our nation being dragged backwards by republicans, but at the same time I’m not ready to give up on our nation just yet.

Losing our democracy and replacing it with an authoritarian government would certainly push something drastic to happen - and I don’t think that is a far flung possibility at this point.
