In view of some of the J6 participants being former military, SS/FBI agents being sent home for childish behavior, etc., I'd say it is past due.

What they are probably afraid of is that the investigations may spill over into congresscritters' poor conduct among their ranks. After all, they can't afford too much close scrutiny, as we're finding out quite too frequently.
