12. The problem with "civility" is that it is used

by them to do whatever they please, knowing that rules of civility will keep anyone from responding in kind.

It seems as if our side just sits and watches what they do and aside from a sad shake of the head and an "oh my" there is no real pushback.

If we ignore it, they won't go away. They won't stop.

I keep thinking back to John Kerry and the swift boating. By the time he responded, the damage was done.

That is what civility bought us.

When they lie, we need to say "that is a lie" immediately, loudly, and often, instead of soft peddling it (untruthful/misleading) or ignoring it in the name of civility.
