In reply to the discussion: Long time DUer Akoto is asking for a little help (update #2) [View all]Akoto
(4,301 posts)Our plan was to stop the fundraiser as of Tuesday night, but given I lack for many alternative communities to seek help from, we've decided to keep on pushing for the final $1k goal for a few more days. That amount would get me fully set up to take my YouTube channel into career mode with the equipment needed, as well as the professional assistance to get the large number of subscribers for that fixed rate contract which will really secure some income.
It has been humbling to ask for help in this way (I know I say this a lot), but I never imagined that I would even reach the first goal of $300 by reaching out here. The fact that we did is fantastic and will help me out a lot! However, it's the final $1k goal that'll get everything set which needs to be. I know that will require either a lot of donations, more than we can probably get before we stop on or a little after the 1st, or a few donors really wanting to make a miracle happen! I don't expect we'll hit $1k but every dollar given counts and will be well utilized. Even if I don't hit the mark, DU will get its promised video just for you guys showing how the funds were put toward my channel's conversion into a business venture, as well as the new equipment to explore a new gaming format to the channel ideal for persons with varying degrees of disability.
Of course, subscriptions to my channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/legacyarkgames are as valued as ever. They're also free! If you can't afford to give (or you would like to do both), you just go to my page and subscribe, that's it. You won't get spammed or anything unless you click to be alerted when I post a new video or am about to go live on a stream.
Thanks for supporting me, for supporting the disabled gamers I hope to continue helping, and for ideally making possible a broader business venture which appeals to all gamers while securing my future. I literally could not do it without you guys. The $1k goal is unlikely when it's a $700 leap from the $300 we have achieved, but any and every bit of assistance in building a better future than living on SSI is a blessing. Thanks.
