It's going to take some heavy lifting, and not everyone is cut out to do that. If you're not good at it, stay out of the way of people who are.

Be ready to lose. Then lose again. And again. And have people ridicule you for your intransigence. They'll tell you that you want the impossible. They'll tell you it's hopeless. Keep at it.

After working so hard and so long to move us backwards on basic human rights, these zealots aren't going to give up. Use their own words and deeds against them. Ignore their bad-faith arguments. Laugh at their attempts to gaslight you.

If someone doesn't get what you're about, just keep going. Their doubts and timidity are not yours. Don't let it sap your resolve.

Don't mourn, organize. Coordinate with people who are working toward the same goal.
