FAIRFIELD, Iowa The trial for a 16-year-old teen accused of killing his high school Spanish teacher will be held in Council Bluffs in western Iowa, a state court judge said Monday.
Judge Shawn Showers ordered the trial for Willard Miller of Fairfield to be moved about 200 miles (322 kilometers) from Fairfield in southeast Iowa to Council Bluffs. The order said Miller, his attorneys and the prosecutors agreed to move the trial away from Fairfield, where the case had received extensively publicity. The trial is set to begin Nov. 1
Miller and classmate Jeremy Goodale, 17, will be tried as adults, facing first-degree murder charges in the beating death of 66-year-old Nohema Graber, who taught at Fairfield High School.
Graber's body was found Nov. 3 hidden under a tarp, a wheelbarrow and railroad ties at a Fairfield park. Police said she had been beaten to death with a baseball bat.
The location of Goodale's trial, set for Aug. 23, has not been set.

Documents Reveal the Brutal Way Two Iowa Teens Allegedly Murdered Their Spanish Teacher and Discussed Details of Her Death on Snapchat
Colin Kalmbacher | Mar 24th, 2022, 6:52 pm
Iowa teenagers Willard Noble Chaiden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodale, both 16, allegedly bludgeoned their high school Spanish teacher to death with a baseball bat and then discussed details of her murder on social media, newly public court documents allege.
The 16-year-old defendants both stand accused of one count each of murder in the first degree and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony over the November 2021 death of 66-year-old Nohema Graber.
Documents containing several new details related to the gruesome murder, search warrants for the two defendants, had previously been sealed but were made available by the judge overseeing the case on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Copies of those filings were obtained by the Des Moines Register and Associated Press.
The court documents allege that a witness who knew Goodale showed law enforcement the defendants Snapchat messages that showed Goodale and Miller were involved in the planning, execution, and disposal of evidence related to their teachers death. According to the search warrant, the Snapchat messages reflect how the duo surveilled Graber, elaborate on how exactly she was killed, where her body was dumped, and how the evidence was concealed.
Graber was discovered dead in Chautauqua Park, in Fairfield, Iowa on Nov. 3, 2021just hours after she was reported missinghaving disappeared during her usual walk through the park the day before. According to police, the deceased woman was found concealed under a tarp, wheelbarrow and railroad ties. In an interview with Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation agents, Miller allegedly admitted that he provided the wheelbarrow from his own home. A witness allegedly told police they saw a wheelbarrow being pushed down a city street just before midnight on Nov. 2, 2021.
