heads should be rolling. dereliction of duty? depraved indifference? law enforcement went to lunch while a mass murder took place within earshot. it's incomprehensible.

i remember when my kids were in school in CA - mass shootings at schools were the last thing we feared. Earthquakes is what we feared. The school sent out a plan to all parents about what to do in the event of a big one. They said "do not come to the school" and I remember laughing at that directive. My ex and I made plans because one of us would go get the little one at day care while the other went to the school. Of course we would go.

My heart just aches. for all the dead and for all of their loved ones. it was a terrible crime to begin with, but it was clearly exacerbated by the inaction of LE. worse than a parent's worst nightmare.
