You only need one convictiion if you are a provider to ruin your life and the cost to defend yourself also needs to be paid (this includes lost wages from being incarcerated prior to trial). Most providers will abandon their practice under those conditions (it has already happened under the less severe but still costly legislation that has already been passed).
