…dictionaries and lexicographers started labeling the (noun) “illegal” (plural: “illegals”) and “anchor baby” as pejorative, and the haters back then went crazy.

(There were some wild edit wars on Wikipedia back then.)

I don’t recall any of them actually threatening the dictionaries themselves with violence, though.

They must be feeling more empowered these days after tfg, who, coincidentally, rode those epithets to power.
