No dentist of my vintage or younger exhibits anything like mercury poisoning. Amalgam has been in premixed capsules almost universally during my entire career and after mixing in the triturator there is virtually zero free mercury. And even if there were it is not tossed on the floor anymore and picked up through the soles of the shoes as it was in the old days.
