8. Crime cartels that ontrol most of Mexico's avocado industry threatened US (!),

in the person of one of our crop inspectors, so we suspended all imports. Good for President Biden! This is not the first time they've threatened our inspectors.

Not-so-funny, I was just mentioning the crime cartels' taking over the lime and avocado ("green gold&quot industries on another thread. Drugs have to be snuck in dangerously and that industry is prone to big losses. Avocados ship in normally and legally, and they don't have to keep replacing employees who get jailed and killed.

We have two on the counter ready for tonight, when there will be only two of us. After that we'll wait. Avocados are pretty much staples around here too, but I'd be glad to wait until the farmers got control of their orchards back if only...
