This is no doubt why Trump moved from NY to FL. He knew that investigations in NY were coming. He expected Desantis to protect him.

OTOH, if Trump plans to run in 2024, and Desantis also plans to run, there is a conflict of personal interests if Desantis helps to protect Trump from NY investigations.
