However, I believe the plotting (& people in the know not warning anyone) went on much longer than 2 months. From the article:

A “Political Process Working Group” focused on “election law and ballot integrity” was launched by Lisa Nelson, the CEO of the American Legislative Exchange Council (Alec), heavily funded by the Koch brothers’ dark money syndicate, the Donors Trust.


And they are still ongoing. "A learning experiment for the Republican party as a whole." A learning experiment, the failed coup.

The coup of 2020 gestated within the central organizations of the Republican right, and it was a learning experiment for the Republican party as a whole.
