It's not public, and access to it is restricted (HIPAA). But it's there. Here in Louisiana we have the super nifty LAwallet app for cellphones, which can function as your driver's license (at least in-state). When vaccinations started they added vax status as an option. You have a control which requires you to "opt-in" (HIPAA again) but as soon as you do, it just KNOWS. Date, type of vaccine, all of it, just from the info on your driver's license. Which is a reason that forging vax cards is a really stupid thing to do. You WILL get caught.
