the civil right era and have been home extremist/terrorist groups like the modern KKK, the patriot movement, the birchers, any number of militia predecessors, minutemen groups, skin heads, Aryan brotherhood, Army of God, and so forth.

The mainstream GOP is just more vocal and in your face since the Pig gave them the permission and the backing as a POTUS.
