I looked at this guy's website, and in one of the parent comments, he is described as "the best pediatrician ". This man is NOT a pediatrician. I'm betting he did not correct anyone who called him doctor. I also could not find anywhere he listed his education/credentials.

NPs can also have their own practices, in some states (can't remember how many), with a collaborating physician. The collaboration varies from contract to contract.

I had as much autonomy as I wanted. My former practice has 3 offices, with 2 providers seeing patients each day - either 2 docs, or one doc and me. No one read my charts, or questioned me. I liked the security of having one of my physician colleagues right on hand for "curbside" consultations in minutes. There were some things I always wanted a quick second opinion on - especially newly heard heart murmurs in any age kid, and potential hip dislocation clunks in newborns.

I never had any interest in being in solo practice.
