Name struck a chord... he was investigated repeatedly for connection to that big anthrax case after 9/11. No charges were brought, but he behaved pretty suspiciously.

And wouldn't you know, Trump would be casting around for some guy with DR in front of his name, and some aide (Meadows? Bannon?) said, "Hey, you'd like this guy Hatfill! He might have been the anthrax killer!"

Trump: Oh, cool. Hire him.
