12. I'm planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest

Seattle, Vancouver Island, mostly, but I'd planned to take the train part of the way and had thought about driving to where I could catch the train. Problem is every state between Florida (where I live) and Chicago are no longer places I want to add to their revenues.

I may either have to bite the bullet and fly - something I am not looking forward to with TSA and overcrowding. Or perhaps take a cruise that will go through the Panama Canal and go up the West Coast to Seattle. I've seen a few that have stops in Central America and those would be nice for bird watching.

Another possibility is a cruise from Florida to somewhere in Canada and take the train across Canada.

Since this trip will not happen for at least two years - if ever - I have time to make all sorts of itineraries. But I have no intention of driving through "America's Heartland" and putting money into the pockets of those who live there, which was my original plan.
