and though Biden has learned to bite his tongue and take things in stride, I'm sure it infuriates his wife and children. Of course, as calm as he often appears, that may not be how he feels inside. Being President of the United States is a unique position and a president does not have the luxury of reacting like the average person.

I agree, the abuse and continuous threats are outrageous. Living with that hanging over you and your family every day must be a nightmare. They don't get enough credit for what they endure probably because they are politicians and aren't seen as brave public servants.

I think most republican politicians live in fear of another FDR and they've maligned every Democratic presidential candidate since The New Deal. They don't want to be a permanent minority again. Being "losers" is a far worse prospect than doing beneficial things for the people and the country they serve. They even tried to paint Reagan as their party's answer to FDR, JFK, and LBJ, but let's face it, their heroes really suck. So they just rewrote history and magically transformed Reagan into some mythological saint. Many of us remember him and don't recognize this fictional version they are selling.
