he was walking away from the podium and Fox's Peter Doocy asked him what he discussed with Putin in a recent phone call and Biden responded, "You. He sends his best." He didn't miss a beat, great timing.

He has a great sense of humor though now and then it gets him in trouble. Too often the media takes it literally or twists it to mean something it doesn't, so they can keep calling him a "gaffe machine", a reputation that was largely created by the media to begin with. Not that he hasn't made mistakes, they all do, but the media is quick to point out the Biden mistakes to conform to the gaffe prone persona they helped create.
