Democrats do not seem to get this. We engage. I feel we are gullible. They win.
Actually it is because we are NOT gullible that we engage. We tend to think that the other side is a thinking entity and persuadable. It is not nearly as much as we Democrats and progressives and liberals are. So we engage and find the other side is more like a pigeon playing chess by knocking over pieces and crapping on the board.
You make a number of good points, such as psyops works, and there are counter-measures.
One countermeasure you don't discuss much is critical thinking. It has been de-emphasized in grade school education for years, particularly from teach-to-the-test effects resulting from RepubliQon mandates for milestones and teacher performance reviews, etc. Those result many from the RepubliQon love of conformity and white male supremacy and monoculture and their general reluctance to stretch and exercise their minds.
