In reply to the discussion: AOC is going HARD on that insufferable Josh Hawley [View all]Pepsidog
(6,346 posts)about America that dates back to when he was 15 years old writing a column for his local paper defending the grievances that cause people like McVeigh to blow up a federal building and defending armed militias. He takes his advice from the sale political consultants that put Rick Scott in Fla. gov seat and now a US Senator and propelled him from the Missouri AG to a US Senator. Its not about where he went to school or how much money he can make as a lawyer, Im a lawyer and know Hawley can make hell of alit more in the private sector. The danger is that Hawley, unlike Trump, is book smart and a religious zealot to boot. Should Biden and the Dems not deliver over the next four years or should we find ourselves in worse shape than we are now, the danger of a real authoritarian coming to power is real. And while the article I referred to was not flattering to Hawley it ends by mentioning that while Hawleys popularity has slipped, overall he is now better known nationally and poised to make a run at replacing Trump with his base. Hawley doesnt carry the baggage the Trump did. Even fellow students at Stanford and Yale say that Hawley they see today is much worse version they saw back in the day.
