(37,748 posts)But my feeling badly, or anyone feeling anything at all, changes nothing.
These visceral reactions you read rarely reflect on who we are... and in time, given both sober thought and genuflection, no one will be sincerely gleeful over her death. Indeed, I think that by Feb. the vast majority of DU will perceive her death as a tragedy in the most fundamental sense of the word.
Though a handful of posts will exploit this for their own narratives or self-validation, that number will be small. Don't mistake the current emotional confusion and visceral reactions in response to a day of unprecedented events to our eventual and collective response.
That said, for every knee-jerk reaction of 'glee' I read, I read ten more expressing sympathy over her and for her. I hope this soothes, or at least quiets your concern (and I write 'concern' sincerely rather than with sarcasm).
