Obama was caught flat on his feet due to inept moderation and absolutely shameless lying.

His strategy is mostly sound, but you can refute the lies by telling the truth - without getting into the shouting match that my gut would prefer.

Talk about Obamacare with pride; "Because you voted for me, your health coverage won't be taken away. If you can't afford it on your own, society will help you out. Medicare continues its promise to provide for the care of seniors and is solvent until 2026 (or whenever). My opponent has promised to undo all this, and if he succeeds, millions will die because they couldn't afford to live in his world. He's untroubled by that truth; he fully admits that he isn't worried about the poor."

That is sticking by your guns, sticking by the truth, and sticking by the story the public heard first.
