4. They wait to count because many villages without roads need time to deliver votes

If you live in Lake Minchumina, population 12, it takes some time to get the records to civilization.

When I lived in Alaska in 1964 there were only 900 miles of paved roads in the state. And it’s a big state. My borough, or county, was bigger than Texas, for instance.
