6. The salvation will be if the warmer air temps mitigate the ice build up

If the really cold temps don't hit until towards the end of the precip, things might be not as bad as I fear. We aren't forecast for quite that much ice, and I've come to realize the weather forecasters always enhance the worst case scenario, so that is what people are prepared for. The down side is, it can start to become a 'chicken little' scenario and people stop taking them seriously.

The funny thing with the 2013 ice storm, that knocked out power for a week, was that in my area the power didn't go out until HOURS after the storm ended.
